Dot Density Map Try Again!

After searching the internet for some help, I went back in and tried to improve my map. It doesn't look that much different but I was able to use the "live color" to change the color all at once instead of county by county like I did before. Much easier! I did also manage to change the scale so the map portion is a little larger. I still can't figure out how to change the background color.......I'll save that for another day.

Dot Density Map

I am finally able to submit my dot density map although I am not pleased with it. Although I have tried to employ all of the suggestions from my class mates, I have not been successful. I struggle with color and scale.

Population Change by Region

Since this map is an adaptation or the map below, the projection is the same. I converted the map to grayscale and used the Munsell Curve to determine the perceived blackness.

Population Change in United States

For this map I selected the Albers Equal Area Conic projection for the lower 48 states. I used NAD83 Alaska projection for Alaska and the Hawaii Albers Equal Area Conic for the Hawaiian Islands. A sequential scheme was used in this choropleth map to show the population change in the US.

Hispanic Population

Ok, I got a little better but longed for the comfort of ArcMap! I spent many hours creating this representation of the Hispanic population in central and south FL. Surely it can only get easier from here!

Florida Keys

Welcome to Marathon in the Florida Keys! It offers some of the best fishing around! I had a challenging time creating this map. I learned a lot but have much more to learn.
